Words with the suffix -MINDED indicate that a person (usually we use these adjectives to talk about people) has
a certain way of thinking, approaching problems or situation, a certain type of character or behaviour.
The type of person we talk about is indicated in the first part of the word.
Examples
For instance, OPEN-minded. OPEN means that this person tends to be OPEN to new proposals, believes, etc. So, his mind is open to anything new.
And what kind of person could be described as CLOSED-minded?
Obviously, the one whose mind tends to be closed to anything new, other people’s ideas, opinions, etc.
